I wrote Lonely Project in 2008 after doing years of research into the successes and failures of change projects in different organisations. I also interviewed people who performed different roles in chnage projects and heard their stories. The book is a mixture of story-telling, statistics and advice.
I often keep a copy with me when I am doing assignments as, although there is no longer anything new to me in the book, it is a constant reminder of things that have gone right and wrong before. Even though the book would now be considered 'old' it always amazes me how relevant the messages are and this is because we (change professionals) often make the same mistakes over and over again.
I am working on an updated digital version of the book, which I hope to be available soon.
